Fastest home-made crackers (the cheat version for Romanian sărățele)

A great way to use up puff pastry left-overs (like the ones you get from making Pissaladiers or Pigs in a blanket) or to whip up some home-made crackers in no-time.

Ingredients (makes as much as you want):
  • puff pastry as much as you want (we used a 275 g pack)
  • a handful of sesame seeds
Note: If you want to try other variations (other than with sesame seeds, you can rub the uncooked pastry with mustard cream or sprinkle grated cheese over the crackers instead of sesame).

Roll out the puff pastry on a baking tray lined with baking paper. Using a cookie cutter carve it into thin strips, vertically and once horizontally:

Sprinkle the sesame seeds over them and, if you want, gently press them into the pastry so they stick better. There's no need to pull the pastries apart, baking will make them thinner and more distanced from one another.

Just bake them for 15-20 minutes at 180-200 degrees Celsius (with preheated oven preferably). You may need to crumble them slightly from one another, but it will be very easy. Serve warm, dig in! :)
