Mascarpone marbled brownies

Lovely brownies made with chocolate and almond flour and with a nice creamy dollop of mascarpone right in the middle of the dark chocolate mass. As a bonus, they're easier to make then they look. Enjoy.

Last year: another kind of bun in the oven and no cooking :).

Ingredients (for a 21 cm square dish):
  • 100 g flour
  • 100 g almond flour (ground almonds)
  • 3 eggs
  • 100 g dark chocolate
  • 100 g butter
  • 100 g brown sugar
  • 100 g mascarpone cheese
  • pinch of salt
  • 1 teaspoon dark rum

Preheat oven to 180 degrees C. Melt the butter with the sugar, rum and chocolate over low heat:

In a separate bowl beat the eggs with the salt and in another one mix the flour with the ground almonds.

After the chocolate mixture is melted and very well mixed, allow to cool a bit, then mix with the eggs. Gradually incorporate the flours and mix well. The batter is ready. Line the 21 cm square dish with baking paper (on the bottom at least) and pour the batter in it.

Drop mascarpone pieces in it with a teaspoon, scattered all around the cake:

Put in the oven and bake for 30-35 minutes. Take out and allow to cool:

Take out of the tray, slice into squares and dig in! :)

    1. Well, there never is a better time for brownies like the beginning of fall, is there? Right now we are experimenting with multiple brownie and blondie variations. Let us know if you make these! :)
