Pizza Diavola (Italian-American)

The go-to in terms of spicy pizza. Super-easy to make and way better than any Diavola you could buy. Not to mention that by making it at home you'll have the satisfaction of feeling (and especially smelling) every step of the way. Enjoy :)

Last year: Deep fried Brie with tamarillo relish.
Two years ago: Sprinkle butter cookies (Italian).
Three years ago: Mashed potatoes with caramelized shallots and Parmesan, Pork in spice crust and Banana bread with nuts (American).

Ingredients (for a 32 cm pizza):
  • one portion of crispy pizza dough
  • 3 tablespoons fresh tomato paste or passata
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 100 g mozzarella cheese, grated
  • 50 g thinly sliced pepperoncino (I used two kinds for extra flavor)
  • thinly sliced red chili (optional)

Make a portion of crispy pizza dough. Preheat oven to 220 degrees C.
Roll it thinly into a circle and fit it into a 32 cm diameter pizza pan. Spread the tomato sauce on it and sprinkle the thyme. Top with the grated mozzarella cheese, and then with the peperoncino. Also add chili, if using.
Put it in the oven and bake it for 20-25 minutes. It's done, dig in! :)
