White bread croutons (vegan)

Making bread croutons to use them later in soups or salads is another thing I prefer to do at home, as the ready-to-buy ones are always full of additives or just not that yummy.
This is the basic recipe for making them, but you can always get creative with adding various herbs and spices. Improvise and enjoy :)

Last year: Chicken with light gorgonzola and mushroom sauce.
Two years ago: Baby making and no cooking :).

Ingredients:
  • a few slices of white toast bread (stale or not), about 1 per serving
  • a few tablespoons olive oil (one per each slice of bread)
  • dried herbs and spices (optional)

Cut the bread into cubes carefully, with a very sharp but delicate knife.

Preheat oven to 220 degrees C. Put the bread cubes in a small dish, making sure there's enough space for them not to overlap. Toss them around with the oil. Also sprinkle the herbs and spices, if using. Put them in the oven.

Let them cook for 15-20 minutes, mixing them once in a while so they brown evenly.
It's done :)
