Fruit skewers with molten chocolate

This is a lovely, fresh, healthy way to come up with something sweet in no time. Although it's so easy to make it looks impressive nonetheless so one more reason to try it as soon as you can.
Anyway, this is done with ingredients most likely present in almost any home - just some assorted fruits and a little piece of milk chocolate and white chocolate, for contrast :).
It was delicious.

Ingredients (serves 2):

  • 1 green apple
  • 1 pear
  • 1 orange
  • about 1/3 of a pineapple compote preserve (from the store)
  • 50 g milk chocolate
  • 50 g white chocolate
Prepare the stuff:

Chop up the fruit into medium-large chunks (the orange just peeled and parted into its natural slices and the pineapple rolls cut into 6 pieces):

Assemble them on 4 long (25-30 cm) wooden skewers, alternating between each kind of fruit (in the picture below there are only two because we've put them on two plates):

Make a bain marie (by placing a smaller pot over a larger pot of boiling-simmering water and melt the milk chocolate in it:

When it's melted (stir to make sure, but not too much - the quantity is small and you don't want to spread it on the pot walls too much) transfer it with a fork (and at a later point your fingers - it's not too hot) to one of each pair of fruit skewers:

Do the same for the white chocolate (if using the same pot wash off any traces of milk chocolate) and top up the remaining 2 fruit rows. It's ready, dig in! :)
