A praline made in the tiramisu fashion. It's like a softer truffle made of tiramisu (ground savoiardi biscuits, coffee, amaretto, mascarpone and cocoa). Need I say more? :)
Recipe source: here.
Last year: Salată orientală (Romanian potato salad).
Two years ago: Risotto carbonara (Italian).
Three years ago: Plăcintă cu dovleac (My mom's pumpkin pie, with puff pastry) (Romanian-Moldavian).
Ingredients (for a plate):
- 24 pieces of savoiardi biscuits (Italian dry ladyfingers) (200 g)
- 150 ml strong coffee (espresso)
- 3 tablespoons Amaretto liquor (or a few drops of almond extract)
- 2 satchels of bourbon vanilla powder sugar
- 250 g mascarpone
- cocoa to dust the pralines
Process the biscuits in a food processor until finely ground. Put the resulting crumbs in a medium-large bowl.
Pour the warm coffee over them and mix well.
Using a blender or a food processor, mix the mascarpone, vanilla sugar and amaretto.
Add this to the biscuit base.
Mix well and the mass is done.
Pour some cocoa on a large plate. Using your fingers, shape teaspoonfuls of mass into balls and dip them in cocoa on all sides.
As you finish each praline, put it on another clean plate (which you'll use to serve them later).
After you finish them all, put the plate with the pralines in the fridge for 3-4 hours so they won't be too soft. It's done, dig in! :)
What a beautiful sweet treat to put on the holiday table. Catherine
